Tethers - a Wordswork retreat in Miami, FL
Join me for a very unique Wordshop retreat focused on untethering ourselves from destructive self-talk and anchoring into constructive narratives through art and writing.
We will explore the weight of words, the meaning of objects, the tethers of memory and their impact on the body and self-talk.
Christine is deeply inspired by Miami-based conceptual artist Bella Cardim, whose visual work dealing with our relationships with our bodies is deeply aligned with hers.
Through a series of Wordshops, collaborative creation sessions with Bella, guided tours of galleries and private collections and artist panels moderated by Christine, the week culminates in the group construction of an installation piece and an Opening Exhibition at the Laundromat Art Space on Saturday, Feb 22nd.
Please note, you need not consider yourself ‘an artist’ to participate! This retreat is about exploring ideas and self-talk in creative ways, and we are all creative, whether you think you are or not.
Bella Cardim is a Miami-based, Brazilian born visual artist. Cardim’s artistic research and output are housed around emotional hunger and body image awareness.
Art Muse is a community of art historians, artists, and educators who offer private and expertly curated art tours to small groups in Los Angeles, Miami and beyond.
Ross Karlan, Director of Art Muse, is a curator and scholar in Miami, FL. He is also the curator-in-residence at Laundromat Art Space.
